USAT Liberty ShipwreckResting on its starboard side just 40 meters from shore, the USAT Liberty Shipwreck lies along a dramatic sloping seabed in Tulamben Bay. The stern begins shallow at around 5 meters perfect for all diver levels while the bow descends to approximately 30 meters for deeper exploration.
Although broken by time and volcanic forces, key structures remain beautifully recognizable: the towering bow gun, the boilers, hull beams, and the stern rudder rising from the black-sand bottom. Home to an incredible range of marine life from mantis shrimps and pygmy seahorses to schooling fish and the occasional mola mola, the Liberty offers something new on every dive. A living piece of history, and the dive you simply can’t miss. |
