The Ubud Monkey Forest is a sacred sanctuary managed by the local village of Padangtegal. It is home to hundreds of Balinese long-tailed macaques and three ancient temples estimated to date back to the 14th–15th century Majapahit period. Often called Bali’s most beautiful waterfall, Sekumpul consists of multiple tall cascades reaching nearly 80 meters. It was once known only to local villagers until trekking routes were developed in the early 2000s. The name “Sekumpul,” meaning “a collection,” refers to the cluster of waterfalls that flow down dramatic cliffs surrounded by rainforest.

The name means “Water of the Ganges,” reflecting the sacredness of water in Hindu belief. Its ponds, fountains, and koi fish pools remain a symbol of elegance and serenity in East Bali.
